In Webmaster Tools
1. Click the “Add a site” button on the Webmaster Tools Home page
2. Enter your blog’s URL (for example, googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com) and click the “Continue” button to go to the Manage verification page
3. Select the “Meta tag” verification method and copy the meta tag provided

4. Go to your blog and sign in

Tips to Optimize Meta Descriptions
A page’s description Meta tag gives Google and other search engines a summary of what the page is about. Write a description that would both inform and interest users if they saw your description Meta tag as a snippet in a search result. Why Google sitemap is important?
Sitemap is general list of internal urls or links of your website.
If you have large contents website and links are not cross linked to each other, there may be chances of your all pages are not crawed by google.
Sitemap is helpful in case of, if your website is using dynamic contents and urls.
Googlebot crawls the web by following links from one page to another, so if your site isn’t well linked, you should create xml sitemap.
